About Russell Green

A neighbor, community member, and advocate ready to work for all of Mendocino County's 3rd District.

Russell Green

Roots Run Deep

Russell Green was born in Ukiah and has lived in Mendocino County his entire life. He went to elementary school in Laytonville, and his family has been doing business here for literally five generations.

Mina Road? Named after Russ's great-aunt Mina. His great-grandparents on his mother's side ran Gravier's Market in Covelo. His grandfather Richard Gravier owned and operated the Chevron station in Laytonville. His dad Glen Green ran Glen's Tire and later Glenmark Storage.

This isn't someone who moved here last year and decided to run for office. Russ understands this county because his family built it. Five generations of small business owners who know exactly what it's like to deal with permits, regulations, and government bureaucracy.

Why I'm Running

Russell Green isn't a politician—he's a builder. A software developer and entrepreneur, Russ has spent his career solving problems and creating jobs right here in Mendocino County. When he couldn't find software that worked for his business, he built his own from scratch. That's the kind of person Russ is: see a problem, solve it, move on.

After five generations of watching his family navigate county government, Russ has had enough. He's seen permits take years instead of weeks. He's watched county departments treat business owners like subjects instead of the citizens they serve. He knows firsthand the friction between local businesses and a government that seems designed to obstruct rather than help.

Russ doesn't care about political theater or partisan games. He cares about whether the roads get fixed, whether local businesses can stay open, and whether his neighbors can afford to live here. He'll work with anyone—regardless of party—who wants to get things done.

That's why he's running for 3rd District Supervisor. Mendocino County deserves leadership that shows up, does the work, and gets results. Russ has spent his career building real things. Now he wants to put that same energy into building a county government that actually works for the people who live here.
